Stravinskij's The Nightingale
With the support from the HCA2005 Foundation, the Carl Nielsen Academy of Music Odense carried out a major opera project in cooperation with The Funen Opera and a number of academies of music from the Baltic countries belonging to the network Association of Baltic Academies of Music, ABAM.
The project was a production of Igor Stravinskij's classical one-act opera "The Nightingale", whose libretto is based on the Hans Christian Andersen fairytale, resulting in four full stage performances during the last half of August 2005 at the Bramstrup Estate.
As far as the Carl Nielsen Academy and the cooperating academies are concerned, the project included solo-singers, choir, a large symphony orchestra, and a conductor, whereas The Funen Opera, besides PR and advertising, took care of the stage production itself including director, set designer, light designer, and other technical personnel.
Socrates/Erasmus Intensive Programme (IP)
The present project is the first step towards the long-term aim - organising a regular and academically recognised summer term for students and academic staff for the respective institutions in the Baltic Sea region.

ABAM - CD
This is the first ABAM CD and it features compositions of the laureates of the ABAM composition competition which was held in Hamburg 2003.
An international jury comprised of composition professors (Marek Stachovski, Cracow – Helen Tulve, Tallinn – Dieter Mack, Lübeck, Fredrick Schwenk, Hamburg) awarded the ABAM prize (donated by the Trede Foundation, Hamburg) to Janis Petraskevics for his work "et la nuit illumina la nuit – recitativi ed ariosi per la clarinetto in La, voile e piano".
To quote the chairman of the jury: "the jury was impressed by a headstrong and eccentric, in spite of its post modern derivatives, characteristic and personal piece, in its wild and irritating tenderness, this composition is decidedly the most personal score we found among all compositions entered". Runners up where Sampo Haapamäki (2nd), Michal Pawelek and Eunyoung Esther Kim (3rd ex aequo).
